Ghaziabad : In a shocking incident from Govindpuram in Ghaziabad’s Kavinagar area, a software engineer allegedly brutally thrashed her mother-in-law as seen in a now-viral video. The techie, Aakansha, pushed the elderly woman to the ground and dragged her towards the staircase. According to the officials, the woman later chased his father-in-law with a knife, who narrowly escaped by locking himself in a room. He claimed Aakanksha frequently threatened the family, allegedly misusing her father’s position as a police inspector. He added that his son lives away from home for work.
The viral video showed that the accused woman was accompanied by her mother, who did not stop her daughter during the assault. CCTV footage shows the daughter-in-law, Aakanksha, slapping, dragging, and kicking the elderly woman while also hurling verbal abuse.
The father-in-law mentioned that his son, who is also a software engineer, lives in Gurugram and rarely visits home. Aakanksha, who works remotely from home, stays at home.
Delayed Police Action According to the in-laws, the incident took place on July 1. However, the police did not file a First Information Report (FIR) until Monday. They alleged that they had pleaded the officials to register an official complaint against the woman for six days.
Bhaskar Verma, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kavinagar confirmed that the FIR was filed on July 7. Based on the complaint, the police have booked Aakanksha and her mother in the assault case.
