While the Transportation Security Administration website clearly states that travelers can bring liquor in their carry-on bag, drinking your own liquor on the plane is not permitted.

In a Tiktok video @Makena_Simpson put down her rucksack and pulled out a clear plastic bag – the kind you’d use to take liquids through an airport.
The bag was full to the brim with miniature bottles of vodka, all of which were under the 100ml liquid allowance, so they weren’t confiscated when she went through airport security.
Once she’d gone through, she bought a soft drink and added the vodka she had taken with her.
She said: “How to save money on airport alcohol. Buy mini bottles at the liquor store. Pack them in your bag. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) allows them because they’re under 3.4 fluid ounces (100ml).

“Buy a fountain drink. Pour your shot in, decide that one shot isn’t enough. Happy flying.”
Sun Online Travel has contacted several airports to ask what would happen if a traveller tried to do this, as we’re pretty sure it’s frowned upon.

Recently, a group of women went viral for the way they got rid of banned booze at airport security.
The group had two big bottles of spirits which they’d forgotten to put in their checked luggage and couldn’t take through security due to limits on liquids.
Instead of chucking the bottles in the bin, the ladies started handing them round to other people in the queue next to them – much to the amusement of airport security staff.
