LANCASTER, N.Y. — Western New York dog lovers, get your cameras ready.

The Como Lake Bark Park 2026 calendar contest is officially underway, offering a unique chance for local dogs to become canine celebrities while supporting a beloved community park.

The contest opened July 5, and it invites pet owners to submit their dogs’ best photos to be considered for the park’s annual fundraising calendar.

Overall, 13 dogs will be selected, with the photo receiving the most votes landing the coveted cover shot. The next 12 top-voted dogs will each be featured in their own month.

“Is your pup camera-ready, wildly adorable, or just plain unforgettable? It’s their time to shine,” organizers said in the contest announcement.

To participate, pet owners must upload a clear, high-quality photo of their dog and pay a $5 entry fee per submission at this link. Blurry or low-resolution images may be disqualified.

Voting remains open until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11. Each $1 donation to Lancaster Unleashed equals one vote — meaning a $10 donation would secure 10 votes. Proceeds support Lancaster Unleashed, the nonprofit organization behind Como Lake Bark Park.

“Submit your dog’s cutest, funniest, or most unique photo for a chance to appear in a full-color, high-quality calendar that celebrates the most paws-itively lovable pups,” organizers said.

The 2026 calendars will be available online beginning in October at the Como Lake Bark Park website.
