Christina Rogers is dreaming of the day she finally gets to say “I do” to her fiancé of over two years. However, that day may not come for a long time. “That’s all I want,” she said. “That’s all either of us want is we just want to get married and start our life together.”Christina met her fiancé, Mostafa Rezazadeh, through his cousin, who lives in San Jose. However, Mostafa, who also goes by Mosi, lives in Tehran. The two first started dating online and then met in Istanbul in 2023. He proposed during that trip. After, they started planning how he would come to the United States. “We thought it was best for the both of us to kind of start our life out here,” she said. Rogers started filing a petition, and then Rezazadeh planned to apply for a visa. He went to Turkey two different times to interview. His application is currently pending, but with President Donald Trump’s travel ban, both are unsure if he will ever come to the United States. Rep. John Garamendi’s office has been working with Rogers, but with the ban and the current conflict, there isn’t much he can do. “If you hold an Iran passport, your chances of getting cleared quickly are very slim,” he said. “It was a very bad time to try and solve this problem, and it is not better today, and I don’t know when it will get better.”Once the war started, Rogers says communication with her fiancé has been spotty.
