A Vallejo woman wants to marry her Iranian fiancé. The war and travel ban make it almost impossible

Christina Rogers met her fiancé, Mostafa Rezazadeh, through his cousin, who lives in San Jose. The two first started dating online then met in Istanbul. They planned to come to the United States in 2023, but with President Trump’s travel ban pending, both are unsure if he will ever come. Rep. John Garamendi’s office has been working with Rogers, but there isn’t much he can do with the current conflict and the current travel ban. “That’s all either of us want is we just want to get married and start our life together,” she said. The war and travel ban make it almost impossible for the couple to get to the U.S. to say “I do” for the first time in over two years, but they are still hoping to get together one way or the other in the near future. The couple is currently living in Vallejo, California, and have a daughter together in San Francisco, who they hope to marry in the future.
