Vadodara: A structural stability survey conducted by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has found all 41 operational bridges in the city safe for use. The survey, carried out last month as part of pre-monsoon preparedness, confirmed that the bridges are structurally sound, with only minor repairs recommended for crash barriers on the Shastri Bridge.According to VMC Standing Committee chairman Sheetal Mistry, Vadodara has a total of 43 bridges. Of these, two — the heritage bridge in Kamatibaug and the old river bridge in Jambuva — have already been closed to traffic and pedestrians due to safety concerns. A new bridge has been constructed at Jambuva, while a replacement project has been approved for Kamatibaug. The 41 operational bridges include 14 railway over-bridges, 22 river bridges, four flyovers, and one other bridge.
