Dancing With the Stars: Will they love it or Leavitt? ABC’s reality dance competition has added The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Whitney Leavitt and Jennifer Affleck to the cast of its upcoming 34th season, which will once again be co-hosted by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro. Leavitt and Affleck have experience with soft-swinging scandals, but how will they fare at swing dancing? While the full list of this year’s celebrity participants won’t be shared until September 8 on Good Morning America, we’ve already got a couple other confirmed names on the roster. One thing they’ve all got in common? They each have millions of followers on TikTok, of course. Can #MomTok survive this? Below, all the DWTS 34 competitors so far.

Whitney Leavitt and Jennifer Affleck

Leavitt and Affleck’s participation was first confirmed in the reunion special of Hulu’s Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on July 1. And they’ve already won a mini-competition to secure their slots — according to reunion host Nick Viall, several Mormon Wives auditioned to be on the upcoming season of DWTS. Affleck was pregnant during the reunion taping and recently went into labor in a nail salon, per a June 27 TikTok. Presumably, #DadTok will step up and watch the baby while the mom of three is off learning her steps.

Alix Earle

The Hot Mess podcaster called it quits with Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network in February 2025. By May, she confirmed that Dancing With the Stars would be her next endeavor. “It was like a no-brainer when they asked me to do it,” she told Access Hollywood on a May 26 red carpet, though she admitted she’s nervous and doesn’t know how well she’ll perform. Hey, at the very least, the social-media star is sure to leave with plenty of fodder for her next “get ready with me” videos.

Robert Irwin

That’s right, mate. Crocodile Hunter Jr. was the first confirmed member of the cast. Fresh off of a couple shirtless photo ops with snakes, the late Steve Irwin’s son told Good Morning America he would be joining the dancing competition. He plans to lean on the support of his sister, Bindi, who won season 21 of DWTS in 2015 when he was 11 years old, he told People. How long do we think it’ll be until he brings a live animal onto the show? Our money’s on the first rehearsal.

So, I didn’t really care about what was being said online, and I wasn’t in a good place with my friends,” Leavitt told First for Women of her villain status in May.

Leavitt has been married to her husband Conner since 2016, and they have three children together. She is considered one of the better dancers of MomTok.

Entertainment DWTS Pros Reflect on Len Goodman’s Legacy in 500th Episode (EXCLUSIVE) The Dancing With the Stars 500th episode, which aired on November 12, 2024, was a glittering celebration of dance, talent and history—but it was also deeply sentimental, honoring the late, beloved head judge Len Goodman. Two Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars are going from dancing on TikTok to competing in the Dancing With the Stars ballroom.

Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, who both star in the Hulu reality series, have joined the Season 34 cast of the ABC reality competition. The news was announced during the Season 2 reunion of Mormon Wives, which debuted on Hulu on Monday.

Actually, most of the Mormon Wives cast auditioned to be on the new season of DWTS, host Nick Viall revealed during the reunion. But for Affleck, being on DWTS has been “her life dream since she was little,” co-star Taylor Frankie Paul said during the reunion, and Leavitt “was an actual dancer,” she added: “You danced your whole life.”

Affleck and Leavitt are both lightning rods on Mormon Wives as well: Leavitt was ostracized from the group in Season 1 for, among other things, abruptly leaving a group text chain (gasp!); and Affleck had to stop filming midway through Season 2 after the stress of a rocky marriage and a new pregnancy got to be too much.

Mormon Wives follows a tight-knit group of Mormon wives and mothers who became social media stars with their viral #MomTok videos on TikTok. Season 1, which debuted in September, became Hulu’s most-watched unscripted series of the year, beating out perennial hits like The Kardashians. Season 2 premiered in May, with Season 3 already ordered at Hulu.

Dancing With the Stars previously announced wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin and TikTok star Alix Earle as Season 34 contestants. Irwin’s sister, Bindi, won Season 21 of the show with pro dancer-turned-judge Derek Hough.

The full list of Season 34 contestants and pro partners will be announced at a later date, as will an exact premiere date for the show’s return. As has been the case for the past two seasons, new episodes of Dancing With the Stars will be simulcast on ABC and Disney+, and they’ll stream the next day on Hulu.

From MomTok to the ballroom, not one but two “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” cast members will join the ranks of “Dancing With the Stars” Season 34.

Nick Viall revealed the news in the Hulu series’ first reunion special, which aired Monday night on Hulu, announcing which cast members would have the chance to shine on their own in sparkly costumes and heels.

“So I heard most of you auditioned recently while filming Season 3,” the former reality star turned podcaster said to the cast at the reunion. “I gotta know who wants it the most.”

Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt quickly raised their hands. Before officially revealing who made it on the established competition show, he asked the cast who they thought deserved it the most. Affleck raised her hand, and Taylor Frankie Paul agreed.

“I think Jen just because it’s been her life dream since she was little,” the reality star said of the soon-to-be the mom of three, who was in her third trimester while shooting the reunion special.

Viall had a surprise up his sleeve because both Affleck and Leavitt were asked to join the upcoming ballroom dancing series. The two women exclaimed and hugged each other and their spouses.

Affleck and Leavitt will join previously announced contestants Australian conservationist and TV personality Robert Irwin and influencer Alix Earle for Season 34. The four early cast announcements all have a presence online, indicating a new trend for the series. “Dancing With the Stars” has seen increasing interest in the show on social media and ranked No. 1 this past fall among young Adults 18-49 in live and same day viewing.

So far no professional dancers partners have been confirmed for the series. Additionally, a premiere date for Season 34 has yet to be revealed, but traditionally new seasons debut in September.

“Dancing With the Stars” is produced in front of a live audience by BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions. The series will air on ABC and Disney+ and stream next day on Hulu.
