All three M-Sport Fords retired on the very same stage of Rally Italy Sardinia.

Grégoire Munster was the first to run into strife, crawling his Puma Rally1 through the all-new Telti – Calangianus – Berchidda test with broken rear-right suspension.

He made it through the stage dropping 2m33.8s – seemingly a disaster, but compared to his team-mates he was remarkably the best off.

Josh McErlean had been an encouraging sixth after the opening stage, but clouted something hard on SS2 which instantly led to the Irishman’s retirement.

Mãrtiņš Sesks’ exit was however the most dramatic; the Latvian rolling his Puma in fifth gear early on in the stage.
