Apple Outage Causes Photos, Mail, Calendar Apps To Not Work For Several Hours
Apple iCloud faced an outage for several hours and many services were reported not to be working. Services like Find My, Photos app, iWork, iCloud Mail, iCloud Calendar, iCloud Contacts and others were affected. The tech giant confirms that ‘some users were affected’ but doesn’t go into the severity of the outage. Apple took several hours to resolve the issue, and managed to solve all of them by 4.30am IST.

At around 1.18am IST, Downdetector also saw a spike in reported problems with the number then standing in hundreds. Most users were reporting of problems related to email, followed by server connetion issues, and the least number of users reported of issues with syncing files.

Apple has updated its Systems page to say there was an outage in the wee hours of last night. The company took several hours to resolve the issue, and managed to solve all of them by 4.30am IST. The services that faced problems were Apple Business Essentials, Apple Business Manager, Apple School Manager, Find My, iCloud Account and Sign-In, iCloud Calendar, iCloud Contacts, iCloud Mail, iCloud Storage Upgrades, iCloud Web Apps, iWork for iCloud, and Photos.

Several affected users took to X to report about the issue. A user named Steve Guttbinder pointed out, “Never have I seen Apple’s cloud services down for this long and with a straight up ‘outage’ (vs. ‘issues’) no less. Over 2.5 hours and counting.” As mentioned, all of the issues have been resolved and services have resumed since early morning.
