Black Siberian Cat Shows off Rare Jet Black Coat While Chatting up a Storm With Groomer

Axl, an ultra-rare, all-black Siberian cat, recently went in for his special grooming session. It takes a lot of self-restraint for a cat to sit calmly without hissing, scratching, biting, or any other “fun” thing they do to show they’re the final boss overlord, but Axl nailed it. Siberian cats are known for their laid-back, easygoing personalities and are happiest being with their people. The Cat Fanciers’ Association notes that these cuties historically have a “Brown Tabby” coat, but in recent years, they’ve evolved to all different coat colors.

Generally speaking, cats aren’t usually fans of baths, sitting still for nail trims, or anything that has to do with losing control of the situation! But for the long-haired kitties specifically, these things are a necessary evil to prevent matting and everything that comes with it. If you’re lucky enough to have a sweet-natured cat who allows a grooming session, congrats—you’re clearly #blessed.

When you have a gentle, thorough, and dedicated groomer like @girlwithedogs, getting a bath and trim might not be so bad. And though Axl has a lot to say throughout his chat session, he did an amazing job sitting pretty.

“I’ve never met such a sweet void,” the caption says, and it’s 100% accurate. It takes a lot of self-restraint for a cat to sit calmly without hissing, scratching, biting, or any other “fun” thing they do to show they’re the final boss overlord, but Axl nailed it.

If you’ve never seen an all-black Siberian cat, same! The Cat Fanciers’ Association notes that these cuties historically have a “Brown Tabby” coat, but in recent years, they’ve evolved to all different coat colors, including “a new color called bimetallic, which includes both gold and silver areas in the same coat.”

Black, however, is gorgeous. Here’s another look at a very majestic Axl in his natural habitat!

Siberian Cats Are Easygoing Kitties

I’m not all that surprised Axl did such a good job during his grooming session because Siberian cats are known for their laid-back, easygoing personalities. As intelligent, sociable, and curious kitties, these companions love being with their people and are happiest being in the mix of things.

These days, Siberians have traded their hunting instincts for late-night zoomies or emotional support, being very in tune with their parents’ moods. Quiet, cuddly, and sweet, Siberians like Axl are also praised for their love of water and having some dog-like tendencies.

That said, Axl may have just set the bar for best-behaved cat getting groomed ever!
