Rocky the rescue dog is a blind senior Chihuahua mix currently at Vintage Pet Rescue. The 11-year-old canine was brought to the rescue last month so he could be placed in a loving home. Rocky has a large lipoma on his right side and a grade 2 heart murmur. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and recently had complete bloodwork and a dental. The rescue organization hopes to find him a quiet home where he can have time to navigate his environment and get acclimated to his community. “When he finds a person, he gets so excited and tries to give lots of kisses,” the onscreen text explained as Rocky sat on someone’s lap and reached up to give some love.
The “quirky and lovable” Chihuahua was brought to the rescue last month so he could be placed in a loving home. Rocky needs some time to get acclimated to his environment but always ends up finding his way.
“He is completely blind and can be nervous navigating new spaces,” the story continued, sharing how he alerts other dogs of needing some extra room to get by. “If he unexpectedly runs into other dogs, he’ll bark to ask for space.”
Though a big part of Rocky’s day is spent napping, the canine cutie has plenty of hobbies including solving food puzzles, playing with squeaky toys and burrowing under blankets.
Rocky Hopes for a Forever Home
While Rocky is adapting to his canine community, the rescue organization hopes to find him a quiet home where he can have time to navigate his environment. His health issues require daily medication.

“He’s living with 20 other dogs at our rescue and does well, but will bark at dogs if they run into him,” the caption noted. “He needs daily eye drops and isn’t too fussy about us administering them. Rocky has a large lipoma on his right side and a grade 2 heart murmur.”
