Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark made history once again on Tuesday night. However, the Fever were defeated by Brittney Griner and the Atlanta Dream by a final score of 91-90. The competitive game saw Atlanta emerge victorious, spoiling yet another quality performance from Clark.

The Fever guard scored 27 points and also recorded 11 assists, five rebounds and two steals. According to FeverStats, Clark now has the most games in the history of the WNBA with 25 or more points and 10 or more assists.

Additionally, Clark is now tied with Courtney Vandersloot for the most 20-point and 10-assist games with 10. However, it took Vandersloot 430 games to reach that mark, while it has only taken Clark 42 contests, per ClutchPoints.

In other words, Caitlin Clark is pretty good at this basketball thing. She is already establishing herself as one of the best players in the league. Clark is also among the most popular WNBA players.

As mentioned, however, it was the Dream who emerged victorious on Tuesday night. Griner led the way with 21 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one block. She is already proving to be a tremendous addition for the Dream. Rhyne Howard added 20 points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds in the winning effort.

The Fever had multiple shot opportunities in the final seconds of the game while trailing by one point. Indiana was unable to connect on the shot attempts, though. The home fans were left discouraged as a result. Nevertheless, the Fever have still started the season strong for the most part.

What’s next for Caitlin Clark and the Fever?

The Fever will attempt to jump back into the win column as soon as possible. They will receive their next opportunity in their first road clash of the ’25 season on Thursday in a matchup with the Dream in Atlanta. The Fever will then return home to host the New York Liberty on Saturday.

Their next two games will be challenging without question. Atlanta features a talented roster while New York won the 2024 WNBA Finals. It will be interesting to see if Indiana can rebound from Tuesday’s defeat despite the challenging upcoming schedule.

Caitlin Clark became the co-owner of yet another WNBA record, but her performance came in a losing effort.

The Atlanta Dream took down Clark’s Indiana Fever, 91-90, in a thriller in Indianapolis Tuesday night, all while Clark rewrote the history books again.

Indiana trailed, 44-42, at the half, while Clark was on pace for a second triple-double in as many games this season. However, the Dream went on an 11-0 run, and it looked like all was over.

Trailing by 11 to start the fourth, Clark hit two deep 3-pointers and handed out a nifty behind-the-back assist to cut the deficit to four.

Indiana could not inch closer for several minutes but finally tied the game with just over a minute left. Aliyah Boston then went to the line with 21.7 seconds left and gave the Fever their first lead since they scored the first basket of the game. The foul against Boston was committed by Brittney Griner, who fouled out on the play.

Rhyne Howard of Atlanta, though, hit two free throws with 9.7 seconds left to take a one-point lead. Clark inbounded the ball but never touched it again. The Fever missed two shots to take the lead, and the Dream took home a thrilling victory.

Clark finished with 27 points and 11 assists. It’s the 10th 20-point, 10-assist game for Clark in her young career, tying Courtney Vandersloot’s WNBA record. Vandersloot has played in 430 games. Clark has played in just 42.

Clark also notched her 350th career assist Tuesday in her 42nd career game. It’s the fastest a WNBA player has gotten to 350 assists. She also now has over 800 points, becoming the fourth fastest in the league to reach that milestone.

Griner finished the game with 21 points and eight rebounds.

It was the Fever’s first game since the WNBA announced it was investigating reports of “hateful comments” directed toward Angel Reese Saturday during a game against Indiana. Clark’s Fever defeated Reese’s Sky, 93-58, and Clark was called for a flagrant foul against Reese, which resulted in Reese being held back from Clark.

In two games, Clark is averaging 23.5 points and 10.5 assists.

The Atlanta Dream are looking to become a competitive team this season after six straight seasons with a losing record. On Tuesday, they notched a sizable win by defeating Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever by a final score of 91-90.

They got off to a strong start and led 31-23 at the end of the first quarter, and they held off two rallies by Indiana to escape with a win and improve their season record to 1-1.

New Dream center Brittney Griner took to social media right after the end of the game to celebrate the victory by sharing a post that threw a little shade at the Fever.

“Fever caught a little cold… DREAM WIN!!” the caption of the original post read.

INDIANAPOLIS — Rhyne Howard made a go-ahead free throw with 9.1 seconds left, and the Atlanta Dream withstood a thrilling fourth-quarter rally led by Caitlin Clark to beat the Indiana Fever 91-90 on Tuesday night.

Clark ignited the Fever with two of her signature deep 3-pointers early in the fourth quarter and finished with 27 points and 11 assists.

Brittney Griner scored 21 points in her first victory with the Dream (1-1), and Howard made four 3-pointers and scored 20.

Brionna Jones added 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Allisha Gray had 16 points and six assists.

Aaliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell each scored 24 points for the Fever (1-1), who trailed 76-65 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Boston, who also had 10 rebounds, made a free throw to give Indiana a 90-89 advantage with 21.7 seconds left — its first lead since 2-0.

After Rhyne Howard put the Dream back on top, Natasha Howard had two chances to win it in the closing seconds, but her first shot near the rim was blocked by Nia Coffey.

Natasha Howard chased down the rebound but her 12-foot jumper clanked off the rim.

Another near-capacity crowd, which included two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson and 2021 NASCAR champion Kyle Larson, saw a physical contest that looked like it could turn into a rout when Atlanta pulled out to a 67-53 lead late in the third quarter.

But Indiana cut the deficit to 80-76 on Clark’s back-to-back 3s, the second from 30 feet with 7:28 to go.

The Dream led 89-80 with 4:09 to play, but Indiana’s defense dug in.

Mitchell made a 3, Clark followed with a layup and then assisted on Boston’s layup, and Mitchell tied it with 1:04 left.
