Bus carrying tourists falls into Alaknanda river in Uttarakhand. One passenger died, while seven others were injured and sent to the hospital. 11 passengers are missing currently, according to officials. Preliminary investigation suggested that the bus was going uphill when the driver lost control and it fell into the river. According to the information received, this accident took place on the Badrinath National Highway. Police and the State Disaster Response Force reached the spot and are conducting rescue operations. The bus is believed to be a tempo traveller.
A bus carrying 18-19 tourists plunged into the Alaknanda River in the Gholtir area of Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag on Thursday, News18 reported.
One passenger died, while seven others were injured and sent to the hospital. As per the report, 11 passengers are missing currently, according to officials. Secretary Disaster Management Vinod Kumar Suman said that the accident-hit vehicle is likely to be a tempo traveller.

“One person has died and seven people injured after an 18-seater bus fell into the Alaknanda river in Gholthir of Rudraprayag district. Teams of SDRF, police and administration are present on the spot for the rescue operation,” Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey was quoted by News18.
