Business Boards
Small businesses offer a variety of boards for different occasions, all customizable to your taste. Get insider tips from business owners on crafting your own delicious charcuterie board. At Grateful Graze, you can find graze boards, graze tables, sandwich platters, individual graze boxes, and grab-and-go options. Seaside Charcuterie offers customizable boards, picnic setups in nature, personalized cherry wood boards, and more. The name Hercuterie came to her in a dream, and it felt fitting to say that this brand and these boards are “hers.” “I’m a girl’s girl, and I love women with a drive and passion,” says Jessica Williams, the founder and owner of Her cuterie. “Each board and graze is crafted with intention, not just to look good, but to tell a story,’ says Williams. ‘Be creative! Char cuterie boards are the perfect opportunity to step out of the box and try something new.’
FAMILY TRADITIONS
“A truly great board hits all the notes, salty, sweet, creamy, crunchy, fresh, and savory,” says ERICKA MITCHELL, founder of Grateful Graze. “It should feel abundant and welcoming, like you can’t wait to dig in.” Grateful Graze began as a side hustle in 2019 and has grown into a full-time business with a brick-and-mortar spot on Shipyard Boulevard that recently opened in April.
Mitchell grew up visiting the Italian Market in Philadelphia with her dad. “We’d spend hours exploring the little shops, tasting cheeses and cured meats,” she says. This is where she draws her inspiration from, incorporating a mix of tradition, curiosity, and indulgence in her boards.
At Grateful Graze, you can find graze boards, graze tables, sandwich platters, individual graze boxes, and grab-and-go options—all influenced by seasonal ingredients, trending flavors, and the feel of each event.
Mitchell’s tip: Start by picking a color palette or theme, then layer from there. Use odd numbers, like three cheeses and five accompaniments, to keep things visually balanced.
Board options and pricing info are available on their website or at their storefront at 1616 Shipyard Blvd., Suite #10.
GIRLS NIGHT
“When people hear charcuterie, they think of edible art,” according to JESSICA WILLIAMS, the founder and owner of Hercuterie. Hercuterie offers a variety of services, including charcuterie boards, grazing tables for larger events, and even a charcuterie cart. Everything is customized to the occasion and the customer’s taste. “Each board and graze is crafted with intention, not just to look good, but to tell a story,” says Williams.
“Hercuterie is more than a board, it’s a brand with heart,” Williams says.
The name Hercuterie came to her in a dream, and it felt fitting to say that this brand and these boards are “hers.” “I’m a girl’s girl, and I love women with a drive and passion,” she says. The goal of Hercuterie is to bring a client’s vision to life and exceed their expectations.
Williams’ tip: “Every board or graze needs a versatile cheese. Brie is my favorite. You can eat it on anything, and it tastes amazing.”
Pricing available online at Hercuterie Board or find them in store at Shoreline Market, a local business in Sneads Ferry.
ART OF THE BOARD
“It’s amazing when people with all different preferences can enjoy one board at the same time,” says BRITANY RAWLINS, owner of Seaside Charcuterie. “Variety helps to make a truly great charcuterie board.” Rawlins loves being able to create and be a part of memorable moments for customers, bringing communities together through creative dining experiences.
Seaside Charcuterie offers customizable boards, picnic setups in nature, personalized cherry wood boards, and more. Rawlins enjoys “pulling inspiration from art and art principles. I love adding balance, shape, and color to my boards. An easy way to achieve this is through fresh in-season fruits and vegetables,” she shares.
Rawlins’ tip: “Be creative! Charcuterie boards are the perfect opportunity to step out of the box and try something new. Also, make sure to add a great cracker or a piece of bread to add crunch and texture.”
