NEWBURGH, Ind. (WFIE) – Officials say a business was left damaged after a kitchen fire earlier this afternoon.

The Ohio Township Fire Department says they were called to a structure fire around 1:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of SR 261.

They say employees tried to put out the fire with extinguishers, but had to get out of the building due to heavy smoke.

Crews began trying to put out the fire around 1:34 p.m., and the fire was successfully controlled by 1:41 p.m. to the cooking and grill area.

The fire department says no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
