Small Business of the Week: U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, has announced Acorn Bluff Farms of Louisa County in southeast Iowa as her small business of the week. In 2016, Seth Todd — who was serving active duty in the Marine Corps — and his brother, Kenan, established Acorn Bluff Farms on a 200-year-old homestead farm in Columbus Junction. The brothers raise Mangalitsa pigs — a prized breed known for their rich fattiness and complex flavor profile, earning their title, the Kobe of pork. The family-run and veteran-owned operation offers a variety of meats, sampler packs and more, online and at farmers markets. Ernst, chair of the Senate’s Small Business Committee, is naming one exceptional small business of the week in each of Iowa’s counties during this congressional session.
