Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday condemned violence in the name of language saying strict action will be taken against such hooligans. Fadnavis said that nobody can be forced to learn Marathi.
“Pride of Marathi in Maharashtra is utmost important. But we will not tolerate hooliganism and violence in the name of language. Police have filed an FIR in the case, action has been taken and even in future of anyone tries to take law in their hands, they will face action. We are proud of Marathi, but no other Indian language will be insulted,” said Fadnavis.
