Celebrity hairstylist Ryan Thomas Pearl was reportedly arrested in Florida on Thursday for charges of attempting to lure a child to engage in sexual conduct. Pearl, who works out of Miami and New York City, is known for styling the hair of celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Sophie Turner.

NBC6 reported that Pearl was booked into Miami-Dade’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on charges of traveling to meet a child, electronic transmission harmful to minors, contributing to the delinquency of a child, and cocaine possession. The charges are all felony offenses in Florida.

Per NBC6, the arrest happened after a mother found deposits allegedly made by Pearl in her daughter’s Apple Wallet account, which then led her to discover a series of inappropriate conversations she claims occurred between Pearl and her daughter on social media. The 15-year-old had allegedly been a client of Pearl’s who met him two years ago when she was 13. Pearl reportedly wrote sexually explicit messages and sent sexually explicit photos.

“I was so disappointed, you know, like, How could this happen to my daughter? But I know it happens every day,” the mother, who has not yet been publicly identified, told NBC6.

The Miami Police told NBC6 they exchanged messages with Pearl in an undercover sting operation, which was set up after the mother notified police. When Pearl arrived at a location police arranged while posing as the 15-year-old via text, authorities say, he was taken into custody, where he allegedly admitted to buying a vape for his 15-year-old client, sending her nudes, and traveling to meet her.
