Chhattisgarh: Security Forces Eliminate Two Female Maoists In Narayanpur Encounter
Since January 2024, over 400 Maoists have been killed in separate encounters across Chhattisgarh. One of the most significant operations occurred in May this year, when CPI (Maoist) general secretary Nambala Keshav Rao, alias Basavaraju (70), was gunned down. Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that anti-Naxal operations would continue even during the monsoon season.
Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) P Sundarraj said that the operation was launched after intelligence inputs indicated the presence of a large group of Maoists from the Maad division.
The operation was jointly conducted by the District Reserve Guards (DRG) from Narayanpur and Kondagaon districts and the Special Task Force (STF).
“Bodies of two female Maoists were recovered in an encounter between Naxalites and the DRG–STF joint force last evening (June 25),” the IG was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
This operation is part of a series of intensified anti-maoists actions by security forces in the region.
