Need help paying for rent, utilities and groceries in Ross County? Here’s where to get help
Ross County Community Action offers Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Good Samaritan Food Pantry offers at least five days of food, once a month for those in need. The Assistance House of Ross County helps with rent and utility assistance, as well as a back-to-work program, a school program, help with eyeglasses and diapers and wipes.
But are there multiple resources throughout Ross County that can help those in need.
Ross County Community Action
This nonprofit hosts a series of recourses including Head Start and Early Head Start Program, Home Energy Assistance Program, Weatherization programs and a food program.
The Ross County Community Action also has recovery support programs and housing and shelter programs.
Good Samaritan Food Pantry
The Good Samaritan Food Pantry offers food services for those in Ross County with a food voucher. Vouchers can be found at many churches in Ross County, Community Action, Jobs and Family Services, and the Red Cross are all referring agencies.
Those looking for help have to be 200% or under the poverty line and have to be a resident of Ross County. Good Samaritan offers at least five days of food, once a month for those in need.
United Way of Ross County
The mission of United Way of Ross County is to assemble resources to help and strengthen to community. The organization focuses on education, income and health by engaging with local people and organizations.

Vicki Crowe Obituary
Vicki Lynn Crowe was born March 6, 1943 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Evelyn Gallagher and Robert Reis. She was the mother of Robert (Elizabeth) Crowe, Ronald and Starlet (Chris) Raines. She is also the grandmother to Brent, Jason, Joshua, Ryan, Rachel, Jordan, Megan & Madison. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday June 20, 2024 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Aaron Hines, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Vicki Lynn Crowe, a beautiful soul peacefully made her way to eternal rest on Sunday, June 16, 2024. Vicki has lived to be 81 years old, born March 6, 1943 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Evelyn Gallagher and Robert Reis.
Vicki has carried a self-less nature throughout her life bringing immeasurable love to her loved ones. With her light nature, she knew how to bring you to laugh.
Her love for Elvis was almost enough love to give the world peace. She would always find ways to give to others no matter the cost. She had a huge heart that has impacted many that continue to be spread for lifetimes to find. In 81 years, the depth of love and happiness she shared will forever be in our hearts.
She was the mother of Robert (Elizabeth) Crowe, Ronald and Starlet (Chris) Raines. Grandmother to Brent, Jason, Joshua, Ryan, Rachel, Jordan, Megan & Madison. Great grandma to Molli, Brynn, Brody, Allie, & Lily.
She is preceded in eternal rest with her mother, father, stepfather, sister, brothers and son.
At the request of the family and in Vicki’s honor, we ask that you wear something Elvis Presley related or something bright in color to match her fun spirit.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday June 20, 2024 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Aaron Hines, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday. An online memorial is available at www.fawcett-palmer.com.
