OGDEN — A cleanup operation is underway Tuesday at an abandoned meat-packing business after reports of a “strong odor” coming from the building.

Ogden City Fire Department said they responded to the abandoned Mountain West Meat located at 895 37th Street.

Upon arrival, the fire department said they found a “significant amount of perishable material” left behind by the previous owner.

Crews were able to ventilate the building, as a private cleanup crew had begun to handle the situation.
