Cleveland Browns at Detroit Lions odds, picks and predictions
The Cleveland Browns (1-2) and the Detroit Lions (2-1) meet Sunday for a Week 4 game at Ford Field in Detroit. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (FOX) The Browns are coming off a titanic upset of the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. The Lions are also flying high after a thrilling 38-30 road win over the Baltimore Ravens Monday night as 4.5-point underdogs. The Under is 2-0 at home, and the Over is 1-0 on the road, so keep that in mind in this game. The Browns rush defense ranks No. 1 in the NFL with just 172 yards allowed and 2.3 yards per carry. The Detroit passing attack with QB Jared Goff, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR Jameson Williams and TE Sam LaPorta should be able to lead the way for the Lions. The Cleveland rush defense has been impressive, likely giving Gibbs and Montgomery headaches most of the afternoon. But Cleveland allowed 41 points in Week 2 at Baltimore.
The Browns are coming off a titanic upset of the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. Cleveland scratched out a low-scoring 13-10 win as a 7.5-point underdog at home, with PK Andre Szmyt drilling a 55-yard game-winning field goal as time expired. Meanwhile, the Under (41) was never in question. In fact, Green Bay led 3-0 at halftime. The Browns are 2-0 against the spread (ATS) at home and 0-1 ATS on the road. The Under is 2-0 at home, and the Over is 1-0 on the road, so keep that in mind.
Browns rookie RB Quinshon Judkins rushed for 94 yards and a TD in the win over the Packers, seizing the starting job after 2 games. Meanwhile, the Browns rush defense ranks No. 1 in the NFL with just 172 yards allowed and 2.3 yards per carry. It has also allowed just 9 first downs on runs, best in the NFL.
The Lions are also flying high after a thrilling 38-30 road win over the Baltimore Ravens Monday night as 4.5-point underdogs as the Over (54) easily connected. After a 27-13 loss in Green Bay in Week 1, Detroit’s offense has snapped back on track with 45.0 points per game in the past 2 contests, and it’s no surprise the Over has cashed in both.
The run game was a big part of Detroit’s success in Baltimore, with RB David Montgomery going for 151 yards and 2 TDs, while RB Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 67 yards and 2 more scores. Cleveland has allowed just 1 rushing TD in 3 games.

Browns at Lions picks and predictions
Prediction
Lions 26, Browns 13
The Lions (-625) are not a recommended play, either straight up or as part of a parlay. You cannot risk more than 6 times your potential return, as the risk is nowhere near the reward.
PASS.
Back DETROIT -10 (-105) to get the job done at home.
Yes, Cleveland was impressive in upsetting Green Bay last week. And the Browns’ rush defense has been impressive, likely giving Gibbs and Montgomery headaches most of the afternoon. But Cleveland allowed 41 points in Week 2 at Baltimore, and the Detroit passing attack with QB Jared Goff, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR Jameson Williams and TE Sam LaPorta should be able to lead the way.
UNDER 44.5 (-110) is a low number for a Lions home game. However, the sportsbooks are giving a lot of credit to the Browns defense, particularly that nasty rush D. The Browns are likely to stop, or at least slow, a major element of the Detroit offense.
Detroit cashed low in Week 1 against the Packers when facing a quality defense, while Cleveland has hit the Under in 2 of 3 games. This game certainly won’t be a shootout, as even if Detroit can do good things, Cleveland’s offense is mish-mash and just not capable of piling up the points.

Browns vs Lions Predictions, Picks & Best Bets for NFL Week 4
The Cleveland Browns upset the Green Bay Packers 13-10 last week, but now must go on the road to face the vaunted Detroit Lions at Ford Field. The Lions are coming off a big 38-30 win in Baltimore on Monday Night Football. Cleveland has the best running defense in the league, limiting the likes of Josh Jacobs and Derrick Henry to 30 and 23 yards, respectively, despite getting 16 and 11 carries. The Browns have allowed a league-low 613 yards overall and just 172 on the ground. Detroit held the Jaguars, Vikings, and Titans Under 16.5 points at home last season. I see a similar outcome on Sunday afternoon. The Detroit Lions have covered the Spread in 13 of their last 22 games (+4.00 Units / 16% ROI). Find more NFL betting trends for Browns vs. Lions. Of course, the Lions are coming off a big 38-30 win in Baltimore on Monday Night Football.
My Browns vs. Lions predictions expect Detroit to limit Cleveland’s offense on Sunday afternoon.

Browns vs Lions prediction
Browns vs Lions Best bet: Browns Under 16.5 Points (-105)
The Cleveland Browns have scored 16, 17, and 13 points in their three games thus far, and I’m a bit surprised to see this line at 16.5 rather than closer to 13.5.
The Browns were held to Under 16.5 points in 12 of their 17 games last season, and only went Over 16.5 points twice on the road.
While the Detroit Lions allowed Over 16.5 points in 10 of their 17 games last season and have done so in each game this year, the game script for this one should be a slower pace.
Browns vs Lions same-game parlay
If our best bet comes through, the Lions’ should easily cover -9.5
Then we have the two Detroit running backs, Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, to score a touchdown. Each of them scored once in Week 2 and then twice last week in Baltimore.
Browns vs Lions SGP
Cleveland Browns TT Under 16.5
Detroit Lions -9.5
Jahmyr Gibbs anytime touchdown
David Montgomery anytime touchdown
Our big-ticket SGP: Juking Judkins!
We’re trying to thread the needle here by taking a Browns touchdown and Under 16.5 points, and I’m going with Quinshon Judkins. He leads the Browns with 155 rushing yards on 28 carries and has a touchdown this year.
Browns vs Lions SGP
Cleveland Browns TT Under 16.5
Detroit Lions -9.5
Jahmyr Gibbs anytime touchdown
David Montgomery anytime touchdown
Quinshon Judkins anytime touchdown
