Cockatoo’s Love for Her ‘Emotional Support Nut’ Is Too Cute to Resist
Cockatoo’s Love for Her ‘Emotional Support Nut’ Is Too Cute to Resist. On Monday, June 9, @porschathecockatoo on TikTok shared the surprising item that sweet Porscha is attached to these days. She’s even willing to balance a little to make sure that she doesn’t drop either of them. It might seem a little weird, but if it brings this sweet little bird comfort and happiness, who is anyone to judge? It was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jun 9, 2025, where it first appeared.
Seeing what our pets decide to get attached to is always really fascinating (and usually very adorable). For my dog, it’s her favorite blankets; she will never miss a chance to cuddle up, especially if a human is ready to cuddle with her. For one of my cats, it’s literally any piece of trash he might find somewhere; he’s never met a balled up gum wrapper that he hasn’t loved.
And for the Cockatoo in the TikTok video below, it appears to be a nut. Not because she wants to eat it — it seems like she just wants to carry it around, no matter how inconvenient it might become!

Sure, they might not be the kind of Cockatoo toys you can buy in stores, but that doesn’t seem to matter to Porscha one bit. She’s even willing to balance a little to make sure that she doesn’t drop either of them.
“Can’t let go of her emotional support nut,” Porscha’s human wrote in the caption.
Previous videos have shown Porscha being rather possessive over her nuts when she’s eating one as a snack, so maybe she’s just the kind of lady who doesn’t want anyone taking what’s hers. Can’t blame her for that.

Fascinatingly enough, many birds do enjoy playing with plastic straws like this one (and many of them do love nuts, though usually for a snack, not as a toy). These are often recommended as a low cost DIY bird toy, and one animal hospital in Arizona has even shared that birds can have a lot of fun with a bunch of the straws tied together that are hanging in their cage.

I hope Porscha never loses her emotional support nut. It might seem a little weird, but if it brings this sweet little bird comfort and happiness, who is anyone to judge?
