Deion Sanders Responds to Ex-Wife Carolyne Chambers’ Support With a Dismissive Shade Before Alamo Bowl
The Colorado Buffs will play BYU in the Alamo Bowl. Deion Sanders took shots at both his ex-wives during his speech. Carolyne Chambers was caught in the crossfire. The game will be an all-out assault on the Buffs’ run game. The BYU defense has been ranked as the best in the entire Big 12. It will be one he-k of a game, so make sure you don’t skip out on it!! The Buffs have a lot of confidence, so don’t skip it out on the game. It’s going to be one of the best games of the season. The winner will go on to face Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl on December 28. The loser will be the loser of the game, which will be played in New Orleans on December 31. It could be “World War III’ as the Sanders boys call it.” The winner of this game will go to the Super Bowl on January 1.
….Making Peggy Coppom have a shot at watching the Buffs play at the Bowl was the target. The 100-year-old Colorado superfan has been waiting patiently to watch the Buffs play at the Bowl, and her wish is now fulfilled as Deion Sanders takes the reins against BYU in the Alamo Bowl. “We set out 1 goal. To get Ms. Peggy to a Bowl Game. That’s my most beautiful date I have ever had,” Deion added. But wait a minute, what is this? “And she’s not gonna divorce me like the other 2 did. Or was it the other way around?” Coach Prime added. Man, Deion is straight up taking shots at both his ex-wives. This man is mad!!

That entire Pilar Sanders divorce scenario was one he-k of a deal in Deion Sanders’ life. Although Coach Prime won and Pilar lost the $2 million defamation lawsuit as well, there is still some animosity left, so we understand why Deion keeps jabbing at her. Getting Peggy to the Bowl and also throwing a jab at Pilar was Deion’s way of getting 2 birds with 1 stone.
See, Coach Prime didn’t forget Senior Day. Shedeur and Shilo’s trap of getting Deion and Pilar to walk together on Senior Day backfired. Do you think Deion Sanders has a foot problem? Yeah, well, after you watch the clip of how Deion slanted and ran away from Pilar, you will start rethinking everything. “World War III” as the Sanders boys call it.
The little jab was some elite-level psychological warfare, but it’s alright. However, what is surprising is Carolyne Chambers catching a random stray during Deion’s speech. “other 2 did”. If one was Pilar, the other was definitely Carolyne, but why was she even caught in the crossfire?
Carolyne Chambers catches a stray!!
“Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.” Yeah, well, Deion doesn’t give a flying f—. Chambers has been nothing but supportive of Coach Prime and the Buffs. Before the season even began, she was already out there sharing inspirational stuff for Colorado. “WE NOT NEW TO THIS!! We True to This!” she wrote while sharing a compilation of her and the Sanders family.
And when it comes down to the Bowl game, she was all in wearing a Buffs headband. “We’re here!” she mentioned on her Instagram story. From what we know, things aren’t that bitter between Deion and Carolyne, so all of this is kind of surprising.

Regardless, Deion could use her support instead of throwing shade at her. Because, at the end of the day, the Alamo Bowl ain’t gonna be an easy game. In the entire Big 12, BYU’s defense has been ranked as the best. So what happens when you pit the best defense in the conference against the 3rd highest-scoring offense of the conference? You get an all-out brawl.
Not only will Shedeur and Hunter both be tested in the gridiron, but BYU will do everything possible to curb the Buffs run game. Deion’s entire running and receiver corp has to be on high alert. And the offensive line? Well, they gotta bring in the A-game.
BYU has 20 interceptions under their belt this year. The most in the entire conference. They gonna run down Shedeur like their lives depended on it, and with how flaky the Buffs’ offense has always been, it doesn’t shine a lot of confidence.

This is gonna be one he-k of a game, so make sure you don’t skip out on it!!

One longtime supporter of the program got a chance to be part of the action on Saturday. Ninety-eight-year-old Peggy Coppom got a surprise from head coach Deion Sanders as he led her onto Folsom Field to kick the opening kickoff.
The Buffs have seen a huge turnaround in Boulder this offseason as Coach Prime has reenergized a program that’s been stuck in the mud. Colorado has seen just four winning seasons over the last two decades, including a one-win campaign in 2022.
Sanders has been able to provide hope to the fanbase as he changes the culture and upgrades the roster. He’s done much of that through the portal, bringing in the nation’s top ranked transfer class this offseason.
That excitement surrounding the team led to not only a huge boost in merchandise and season ticket sales, but it also resulted in a packed house for the spring game.
The difference between this year and last year is quite noticeable.

One fan in attendance was 98-year-old Peggy Coppom, who’s stayed with the Buffs through thick and thin over the last 80 years. He dedication and unwavering support landed her an awesome honor on Saturday.
Coach Prime surprised Coppom by bringing her onto the field for the opening kickoff. She had no idea what was in the works.
“Where are we going?” she asked as Deion Sanders led her onto the field.
After learning that she’d been tasked with kicking the opening kickoff, the shock sank in.
“I said, ‘What!?’ I prayed to Jesus, ‘Help me get through this.’ My balance isn’t very good anymore. My eyes aren’t good anymore.”
You wouldn’t have been able to tell by her kickoff. Coppom, while still walking hand in hand with Coach Prime, drilled that kick to get the action started.
Deion Sanders commented on the kick after the game, saying, “Peggy was the MVP of the game. She was quick. Her first step was unbelievable. She was very physical when she grabbed me to make sure I held her arm… She made a big play. Her kickoff was phenomenal.”
Coppom has been watching the Buffaloes for decades, and now, she got to be a part of the action. She’s one of the most well-known superfans in college sports, attending more than 3,000 Colorado events with her late twin sister, Betty Hoover.
This will be a moment that Coppom, who was recently inducted into the CU Athletics Hall of Fame, will never forget.
