Colorado’s Deion Sanders Reveals He Had to Make a Will in Health Update Video
Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders hasn’t revealed the specifics of his recent health issues. He said that, because of the health issues he was dealing with, he had to make a will. “That’s not easy, at all, to think that you might not be there, but you want to make sure everybody is straight,” he said in a recent video. Sanders and his medical team will hold a press conference on Monday “to provide team and general updates”
He said that, because of the health issues he was dealing with, he had to make a will.
“I had to make a will,” he said (3:15). “That’s not easy, at all, to think that you might not be there, but you want to make sure everybody is straight.”
Luckily, Sanders’ son, Deion Sanders Jr., gave a positive update on his father’s health.
“It was a hard-fought battle,” he said. “It was a battle that was fought and won.”
Few details about Sanders’ health condition have been revealed. ESPN’s Heather Dinich reported in June that Sanders had been “ill and out of office recently,” missing the team’s annual summer football camps.
Sanders posted an update on social media last month, saying that he is “okay” and would give fans more details when he returned to Boulder.
“I can assure you all that everything is OKAY and will continue to be so,” he wrote. “God got me like no other. I have so much more work to do to Glorify God so please believe God got me! I’m excited to get back to Colorado to be at home with my staff, team & all associated to our program. When we arrive back to Boulder you will be updated on everything.”
Sanders was able to make it to Big 12 Media Days earlier this month, but he was sure to keep the attention on football rather than himself.
“I’m not here to talk about my health,” he told reporters. “I’m here to talk about my team.”
In his last update before Sunday’s video was released, Sanders revealed that he’s not completely over his health issue.
“You know I’m still going through something, I ain’t all the way recovered,” he said in a video on July 20.
Colorado announced Friday that Sanders and his medical team will hold a press conference on Monday “to provide team and general updates.”
