LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Comedian Desi Banks has been taking the stage for his “The Elevation Tour” since June.

His tour makes a stop at the Rosa Hart Theatre this weekend, but before the show begins, he brought his workout routine to Project Fit in Lake Charles to train with residents.

“A lot of good people are putting in work you know, I believe health is longevity you know what I’m saying, so while I’m on tour right now I try to find the best gym in each city and each place and tap into their health world,” said Banks.

Banks has built millions of followers across all of his social media platforms and is known for his funny skits and creativity. But not everyone sees him working out and staying active behind the scenes.

“It’s a mentality. If you want to be great, you want to be different, you want to be a one percenter, this is the stuff you got to do to be a one percenter. You know what I’m saying, you got to put in the work no one sees,” said Banks.

Banks said his management team reached out to Project Fit owner Allie Davis for the opportunity to bring his fitness event here.

“We’re very excited to have him here. This kind of event really fuels my soul. I love group fitness. I love fussing fitness with fun. That’s really how project fit got started with kind of hosting events like this one to bring people together,” said Davis.

Banks left with a motivational message.

“Find your purpose or you’re wasting that. Find purpose or you’re wasting that. You ain’t doing what you’re supposed to be doing,” said Banks.
