Cops ensure law and order in state capital
Thousands of people participated in the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabadhra and Goddess Subhadra in Ranchi. Nearly 30 magistrates along with 1,500 police personnel were also deployed at 90 places.
Ranchi: Police were on tight vigil and prevented any unwanted incidents on Friday as thousands of people participated in the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabadhra and Goddess Subhadra from the Jagannath temple to Mausi Badi in the Jagannathpur locality of the city. The deities will return on the occasion of Ghurti Rath Yatra scheduled on July 6.For effective management of the crowd, the administration set up a control room and installed 64 CCTV cameras in and around the temple and Mausi Badi. Nearly 30 magistrates along with 1,500 police personnel were also deployed at 90 places in the area.Earlier, Ranchi DC Manjunath Bhajantri and SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha issued a joint order dividing the Jagannathpur areas into six zones with a DSP-rank officer put in charge of each zone. Three watch towers and a stage were also set up to monitor the crowd.
