Did You Miss These Wild Celebrity Weddings?

This summer has been peak nuptials season for power pairings. Demi Lovato and Jordan “Jutes” Lutes married in front of God and 135 guests. Huma Abedin and Alex Soros got married at their home in Water Mill in the Hamptons. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez made sure that they invited all of the Kardashians, as well as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, to their wedding. And that’s to say nothing of the couple’S unofficial wedding planners: Clinton and Anna Wintour, who pulled out their calendars and suggested the wedding date, despite Alex saying he was scheduled to be at a conference in Europe. It was undoubtedly the most-talked-about celebrity wedding season of the season — and there was no shortage of celebrity bridesmaids, groomsmen, and bridal party spray tans. It also happened to coincide with the same photographer (Jose Villa), wedding planner (Mindy Weiss), and general location as Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld.

Marriage rates have been declining, but thank God celebrities keep having weddings. This summer has been peak nuptials season for power pairings, with celebrations planned by the likes of Mindy Weiss, entertainment by such stars as Elton John and Paris Hilton, and “budgets” in the mid-seven figures.

As we wait for the biggest celebrity wedding on the horizon, let’s look back at the biggest, most ridiculous events of the season.

Demi Lovato and Jordan “Jutes” Lutes

➼ Wedding date: May 25

➼ Exclusive coverage: Vogue and People

➼ Personal detail: Paris Hilton was the DJ

Lovato, 32, and Jutes, 24, were married at the Bellosguardo Estate in Santa Barbara in front of God and 135 guests with the help of celebrity-wedding planner Mindy Weiss. They gave most of their wedding photos to Vogue, but People got paparazzi shots from the ceremony and this insider quote: “It was an incredible night and everything they’ve been looking forward to.”

Lovato gushed over several details of the day to Vogue, including the fact that the entire 18-person bridal party got custom spray tans by Dolce Glow. The couple shared their first dance to a live rendition of “Iris,” by the Goo Goo Dolls’ John Rzeznik, and partied into the night with Lovato’s friend Paris Hilton as DJ. “Paris literally shook the dance floor with her DJ skills,” she told Vogue. “And I mean the entire floor moved with her beats.”

Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen

➼ Wedding date: May 31

➼ Exclusive coverage: Steinfeld’s email newsletter Beau Society

➼ Personal detail: It was a “no phones” wedding

The 28-year-old actress and 29-year-old quarterback for the Buffalo Bills got married just six days after Lovato and Jutes with, coincidentally, the same photographer (Jose Villa), wedding planner (Weiss), and general location. Steinfeld and Allen chose the ever-popular San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara for their ceremony (Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson, and Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger all got married there).

In her email-newsletter recap, Steinfeld revealed that she and Allen had lemon ricotta pancakes together the morning of the ceremony and that instead of a bouquet, she held “one single crystal rose” to walk down the aisle. Allen has been slower to share details from the wedding, but he did acknowledge it on the season premiere of Hard Knocks this month.

Huma Abedin and Alex Soros

➼ Wedding date: June 13

➼ Exclusive coverage: Vogue and the New York Times

➼ Personal detail: Nicky Hilton Rothschild introduced the couple

Abedin, 49, the former Hillary Clinton aide who used to be married to Anthony Weiner, and Soros, 39, the billionaire philanthropist, got married at their home in Water Mill in the Hamptons in front of an impressive collection of celebrities, politicians, and celebrity politicians. The guest list included Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff, Jennifer Lawrence, Jimmy Fallon, Adrien Brody and Georgina Chapman, Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Nancy Pelosi, Diane von Fürstenberg and Barry Diller, Mariska Hargitay, Sienna Miller, Tony Goldwyn, and Nicky Hilton Rothschild, who initially introduced the couple in New York City. And that’s to say nothing of the couple’s unofficial wedding planners: Clinton and Anna Wintour.

“We got engaged with no plans to have a wedding,” Abedin told Vogue. “We talked about hosting small dinners in different cities because we have close family and friends all over the world. But once we decided to have a wedding, or rather when we were instructed to have a wedding by Hillary and Anna, who pulled out their calendars and suggested the date — despite Alex saying he was scheduled to be at a conference in Europe! — it was set.”

Boyz II Men performed at the reception.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez

➼ Wedding date: June 27

➼ Exclusive coverage: Vogue

➼ Personal detail: Sydney Sweeney (?) was there!

This was undoubtedly the most-talked-about celebrity wedding of the season — Bezos, 61, and Sanchez, 55, made sure of that when they invited all of the Kardashians as well as Tom Brady, Orlando Bloom, Leo DiCaprio, and Sydney Sweeney, for some reason. Guests converged on the floating city of Venice and utilized every water taxi available to ferry among the couple’s welcome party, reception, and post-reception “pajamas and lingerie” party. The most disappointing part of the spectacle, however, is that as far as the tabloids can tell, none of the celebs hooked up with each other. This was supposed to be Bloom’s reentry into the dating world after calling off his engagement to Katy Perry, and all we got were paparazzi pics of him saying hello to Oprah.

At least Sanchez got a (digital) Vogue cover out of it.

Eve Jobs and Harry Charles

➼ Wedding date: July 26

➼ Exclusive coverage: No official coverage, but there was a Getty photographer stationed at the entrance to the ceremony

➼ Personal detail: The bridesmaids wore red!

Jobs, the 27-year-old daughter of Laurene Powell Jobs and the late Steve Jobs, and Charles, a 26-year-old British Olympic equestrian, had perhaps the most private celebrity wedding this summer. They did not give any information or photos to any outlet — not even Vogue — and their high-profile guests mostly declined to share pictures of the event. Except Kourtney Kardashian: She posted an Instagram carousel tagged “The Cotswolds” after reportedly attending the wedding at St. Michael and All Angels Church in the Oxfordshire village of Great Tew in the U.K.. (It’s interesting that Kourtney was the one Kardashian sister to skip the Bezos wedding, but she showed up to this one.)

Still, we got a few details via the New York Times and other outlets. Guests included Phoebe Gates and Jennifer Gates Nassar (daughters of Bill and Melinda Gates); Dua Lipa’s fiancé, Callum Turner; and the Olympic skier Eileen Gu. Elton John and Kaytranda performed at the reception at Estelle Manor. The whole weekend reportedly cost upwards of $6 million.

Charli XCX and George Daniel

➼ Wedding date: July 19

➼ Exclusive coverage: Charli’s TikTok

➼ Personal detail: Everyone was smoking

Charli XCX went from Brat Summer to bride summer in July when she married George Daniel at Hackney Town Hall in London. The pop star, 33, and the 1975 drummer, 35, then celebrated at the Italian restaurant Dalla and Ellie’s Bar in Dalston with paparazzi following them the whole way. The bride wore an off-the-rack Vivienne Westwood mini-dress and big sunglasses.

“Charli’s wedding reception was the epitome of Brat,” a source told The Sun. “Her and George wanted to keep it very cool, so they shunned cars and walked down Hackney High Street to get to Dalla. The restaurant had closed for them, and they had a massive family style meal with loads of pasta and champagne. People walking past were stunned when they saw Charli and George having a cheeky pre-dinner cigarette outside.”

A source told People, meanwhile, that the couple plans to have a bigger, “star-studded” celebration in Sicily later this year, so that’s something to look forward to.

Nina Agdal and Logan Paul

➼ Wedding date: August 15

➼ Exclusive coverage: Paul’s YouTube podcast

➼ Personal detail: Paul’s brother Jake punched the wedding cake

Paul, a 30-year-old YouTuber turned WWE star, and Agdal, a 33-year-old model and onetime girlfriend to Leonardo DiCaprio, got married at the famed Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy, alongside their 10-month-old daughter, Esme. (Emily Blunt and John Krasinski got married there back in 2010.)

On his podcast recap of the wedding weekend, Paul and Agdal revealed they had 250 guests and spent millions of dollars on the event itself. He thanked fans for buying his sports drink, Prime, which helped finance the wedding. Hopefully this was all filmed for the second season of the couple’s HBO reality show (with brother Jake Paul and his fiancée, Jutta Leerdam), Paul American.
