GOSHEN — Combine biking and ice cream for a fun evening event. The Elkhart County Parks will offer a sweet cycle ride from Ox Bow Park to Vanilla Bean Creamery from 6 to 8 p.m. June 13. Riders will begin at Ox Bow Haus Shelter, 23033 County Road 45 and follow the Maple Heart Trail and Elkhart River Greenway Trail to the Vanilla Bean Creamery for a refreshing treat. Cyclists will return to Ox Bow giving riders 11 cycling miles. There is no fee for this ride, but there is a $3 vehicle fee into Ox Bow. All ages are welcome, but those 18 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult. Register by June 12 at www.elkhartcountyparks.org.

LAPORTE — Children and their families are invited to join in the fun at the free Safe Kids Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT June 13 at the LaPorte County Family Resource Center, 1232 W. Indiana 2. This interactive event will include a variety of activities along with educational booths with information about keeping kids safe, healthy and happy. The event also includes a free meal for the entire family, a live DJ, games, raffle, prizes, giveaways and a few surprises. MICHIGAN CITY — Franciscan Health Michigan City’s free FIT-Together program, a family-centered approach to health and wellness is back and open for registration. This six-week fitness program is intended for households with children between the ages of 8 and 15. Participants will explore health choices in activities, relationships and emotional health, the seven Cs of family resilience by taking part in individual and family-centered physical activities, and meal prep classes.

Fit-Together takes place from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. CT Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 17 to July 24 at The Temple Total Fitness Center, 1914 E. U.S. 20. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and gym shoes to all sessions.
