Essentia health workers end strike in Duluth on Tuesday. About 300 healthcare workers participated in this strike. It forced Essentia to temporarily close the Solvay Hospice House.
Essentia Health nurses and other healthcare workers ended their two-week strike Tuesday.
They are set to return to work on Wednesday while negotiations continue.
“We’re not giving up, but we are deciding to go back and care for our patients,” said Neissa Boehm, a nurse in Virginia, MN, at a news conference on Tuesday. “We care about our patients and we do not want them to suffer any longer.”
About 300 healthcare workers participated in this strike. It forced Essentia to temporarily close the Solvay Hospice House.
However, advanced practice providers from Essentia Health’s east market have been striking for 10 days and have not reached a deal.
