Eversource connects CT businesses with affordable energy at ‘Main Streets’ events
Eversource has launched its premier small business efficiency initiative in Connecticut again this year. Eversource is partnered with eight municipalities to connect small business owners with approved contractors. Communities involved include Hartford, Montville, New London, Torrington, Manchester, Stamford, Newtown and New Milford. The 2025 Main Streets schedule is as follows, but businesses interested in scheduling an energy assessment in other Connecticut communities on a date not listed can sign up here. The initiative delivers real economic value by helping business owners lower operating costs, improve customer and employee comfort and reinvest in our growth,” said a spokesman for the energy company. “By making energy efficiency more available and affordable, we’re strengthening local businesses and supporting jobs across the state.”
BERLIN, Conn. — Once again, Eversource is helping Connecticut businesses control their energy use with optimized solutions geared toward efficiency.
To do so, the energy company has brought back its “Main Streets” initiative. Eversource is partnered with eight municipalities to connect small business owners with approved contractors, who provide energy assessments to discuss upgrades that lower energy use and lessen costs.
The communities involved include Hartford, Montville, New London, Torrington, Manchester, Stamford, Newtown and New Milford. Eversource will spend a week focused on all eight locations to increase awareness regarding available resources.
Tilak Subrahmanian, Eversource’s vice president for Energy Efficiency and Electric Mobility, emphasized that small businesses are the backbone of the state’s economy.
“This initiative delivers real economic value by helping business owners lower operating costs, improve customer and employee comfort and reinvest in our growth,” Subrahmanian said. “By making energy efficiency more available and affordable, we’re strengthening local businesses and supporting jobs across the state.”
Main Streets energy efficiency solutions begin with an assessment to discover energy-saving opportunities for small businesses. These include weatherization, insulation, occupancy sensors, programmable thermostats, refrigeration controls, lighting controls and other equipment.
While some improvements are scheduled for a future date, others will occur on the spot at no cost to the customer.
Eversource provides added incentives for several different energy efficiency improvements such as up to 80% of project costs or 100% of weatherization measures. Furthermore, on-bill financing for any remaining costs is available to qualifying customers.
Local licensed contractors will finish approved contractors while making sure daily business operations are only minimally disrupted.
Main Streets could be the first introduction for small businesses to various incentives and residential energy efficiency programs.
All Connecticut residents, including renters and homeowners, are eligible for incentives, services and support that can help them strengthen their energy efficiency.
The 2025 Main Streets schedule is as follows, but businesses interested in scheduling an energy assessment in other Connecticut communities on a date not listed can sign up here.
New London – Week of June 2
Torrington – Week of June 23
Manchester – Week of Sept. 8
Stamford – Week of Sept. 22
Newtown – Week of Oct. 6
