Every NC Gatorade Player of the Year (all sports)
Gatorade has been awarding Players of the Year to North Carolina high school athletes since the 1985-86 season. It now also awards them in cross country, softball, volleyball, and girls soccer. The overall national male or female athlete of the year has the pound sign (#) The top-ranked girls team in North Carolina improved to 21-0 on the season with a 76-46 win at North Raleigh Christian on January 23, 2024. The winner of this year’s award is High Point Christian’s Bam Adebayo, who is now a junior at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The national winner of the award is Ashley Rivers, from Ashley, North Carolina, who won the award in 2021. The award is given to the top high school athlete in the state for the baseball, track and field, basketball, and boys soccer seasons.
