That includes 28 shelters being replaced, with the old shelters being removed and stored for a cost of $736,800.
The total cost of the project, including all applicable work to replace and install new shelters, would be $1,002,353.
The funding for the project would be allocated from the FY21 Buses and Bus Facilities Grant through the Federal Transit Administration.
RES-25:104
This resolution originally stated plans to add a parking lot and driveway at Beatrice Park, but was amended to reflect another project.
The amendments were to authorize the city’s Grants and Community Development Department to apply for a $500,000 FY26 matching grant from the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism, and to change the project to an all-inclusive playground at Craighead Forest Park.
Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Director Danny Kapales said the all-inclusive playground would replace the current Rotary Park playground.
Kapales said funds already allocated through Jonesboro’s Master Parks Plan would be used for a parking lot and driveway at Beatrice Park.
The resolutions were forwarded to the full city council for their next meeting on Aug. 19.
