First-ever outdoor boat and travel show comes to Black River Landing

The 2025 Boat, Sport and Travel Show made its debut at Black River Landing in Lorain on July 19 and 20. Event coordinator Chris Haynes said the show was born out of a desire to bring something new to Lorain’s summer schedule. The show has attracted more than 60 vendors, with over 120 RVs, 50 boats, and dozens of recreational vehicles filling the grounds. The event also featured a pet-friendly section, a home improvement area, and travel-related vendors. It is the first outdoor boat show hosted at the popular lakeside venue.

The 2025 Boat, Sport and Travel Show made its debut at Black River Landing in Lorain on July 19 and 20.

The show marks the first-ever outdoor boat show hosted at the popular lakeside venue.

Black River Landing transformed into 15 acres of recreational vendors, featuring boats, RVs, powersports and travel services.

Event coordinator Chris Haynes said the show was born out of a desire to bring something new to Lorain’s summer schedule.

“There’s nothing else like this around during this season, you have shows in the spring and fall, but nothing quite like this in the summer,” Haynes said.

The show has attracted more than 60 vendors, with over 120 RVs, 50 boats, and dozens of recreational vehicles filling the grounds.

Haynes said the idea came together quickly.

“We really just got the idea started in November,” Haynes said.

“The RV dealers were the first to jump on board, followed by the boat dealers, and then all the ancillary vendors.”

Participants included General RV and Camping World, both bringing over 40 units each.

“Some of these dealers started hauling equipment on Monday with teams working day and night,” Haynes said.

“There’s probably close to $50 million worth of inventory here.”

The event also featured a pet-friendly section, a home improvement area, and travel-related vendors.

FIDO’s Companion Animal Rescue hosted an adopt-a-dog event, and local pet treat businesses were also on site.

Haynes said the event is a way to bring something fresh to Lorain.

“It’s not just a boat show, it’s not just an RV show, it caters to all ages and interests,” Haynes said.

“A lot of the vendors have never been here before and didn’t realize what a unique venue this is until they saw it.”

Haynes said Black River Landing offers the size and atmosphere needed for a large-scale summer show.

“With the I-X Center out of commission, a lot of dealers are saying this could become the next big outdoor show,” Haynes said.

“We’re hoping this becomes a staple for the region.”

The 2025 Boat, Sport and Travel Show will run July 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
