A company is recalling more than 24,000 pounds of chicken sausage after customers reported finding pieces of plastic inside some of the meat, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said this week.

Massachusetts-based Kayem Foods Inc. decided to voluntarily recall 24,173 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken sausage products that may be contaminated with plastic, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Thursday.

The company notified the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) after three customers said they’d found plastic inside the food.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported.

FSIS urges customers to either throw away the product or to return it to where they purchased it.

The product, an 11-ounce vacuum-packed package containing four pieces of “ALL NATURAL al fresco CHICKEN SAUSAGE SWEET APPLE with Vermont made syrup” with lot code “179” and “USE/FRZ BY” date “OCT 01 2025” printed on the back package label, was produced on June 28.

The products have establishment number “P-7839” inside the USDA mark of inspection, and were shipped nationwide.

The recall comes the same week a New York company issued a nationwide recall of a fish product due to a risk of botulism poisoning.

Scottie Scheffler took home the first Open Championship of his career on Sunday, shooting a final-round 68 and finishing 17-under par for the major tournament.

Harris English finished in second at 13-under par while Chris Gotterup finished in third, shooting 12-under par. Wyndham Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick and Haotong Li each finished tied for fourth at 11-under par.

Scheffler’s win added to his already impressive resume and the terrific 2025 he’s put together. He has four wins on the year, including the Byron Nelson, the PGA Championship and the Memorial. He also sits in first place in the FedEx Cup standings.

Even better, Scheffler got to take home a big check from Royal Portrush.

He earned a $3.1 million payday for the victory.

“Being able to walk up 18 with the tournament in hand is a really tough thing to describe,” he told reporters after the tournament, via ASAP Sports. “It’s a really cool feeling. I have a lot of gratitude towards being able to accomplish something like this. It’s taken a lot of work — not only a lot of work, but it takes a lot of patience. It’s a high level of focus over 72 holes of a tournament. This was, I felt like, one of my best performances mentally. We did a really good job of staying in it all week.

“Like I said, to only have one double (bogey) — really only one over par hole in the last 36 holes of a major championship, that’s how you’re able to win these tournaments, just being able to do stuff like that. It takes a high level of focus. Teddy (Scott) and I did a really good job this weekend of being committed to what we were doing and holing some key putts when I needed them.”

English took home just over $1.7 million for his troubles, while Gotterup added $1.128 million for his finish. Clark, Fitzpatrick and Haotong each earned $730,667.

Costco’s switch from Pepsi to Coca-Cola drinks at its food courts is underway.

The change at Costco’s food courts “began rolling out across all Costco warehouses” at the beginning of July, The Coca-Cola Company said in a statement to FOX Business.

All of Costco’s food courts will offer Coca-Cola products by the fall.

It comes at a time when President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Coca-Cola was going to switch to using cane sugar as a sweetener instead of high-fructose corn syrup. Coca-Cola has neither confirmed nor denied Trump’s claim. However, it has thrust the drink maker into a brighter spotlight despite its market dominance.

The warehouse retailer’s change to Coca-Cola beverages may not come as a surprise to members considering Costco CEO Ron Vachris said in January the company would be “converting our food court fountain business back over to Coca-Cola” this summer.

It nonetheless marks a big change for Costco food courts, which had offered Pepsi products since 2013.

“Costco insiders and Coca-Cola fans are buzzing about the transition, which will span warehouses in 14 countries, allowing Costco members everywhere to once again enjoy their favorite Coca-Cola beverages alongside Costco’s beloved food court offerings,” Coca-Cola told FOX Business.

Some social media users have posted photos of Costco food courts to Reddit with a Coca-Cola cup visible in the signage for its popular hot dog and soda combo in recent days.

Food courts are one of the many ancillary businesses Costco offers at warehouses along with gas stations, optical departments, hearing aids and tire installation.

Globally, as of Wednesday, the company’s footprint spanned 908 warehouses, with 625 of them located in the U.S., according to a press release.

Vachris said during the company’s third-quarter earnings call in late May that it expects to reach 914 locations worldwide by the end of its fiscal year.

In August, seven Costco openings are planned, with warehouses launching in Canada, Mexico and the U.S., according to a page on the retailer’s website.

Costco will release its fourth-quarter financial results in late September.

The largest-known piece of Mars ever found on Earth is going up for auction on Wednesday and could fetch as much as $4 million because of the rareness of an extraterrestrial item.

Sotheby’s auction house is opening the bidding on a meteorite that it calls “an incredibly rare discovery,” at $1.6 million.

According to the auction site, bidders are bidding on the largest piece of Mars on Earth, which was ejected from the Martian surface by a massive asteroid strike.

After the strike, the rock traveled 140 million miles through space and hurtled through the Earth’s atmosphere before crashing in the Sahara Desert, the New York City auction house said.

Dubbed NWA 16788, the rock was discovered on Nov. 16, 2023 by a meteorite hunter in Niger’s remote Agadez Region.

NWA 16788 is about 70% larger than the next largest piece of Mars that has ever been found on Earth.

According to the auction post, pieces of Mars are “unbelievably rare.” There are currently over 77,000 recognized meteorites on Earth, and of those, only 400 are from Mars and have a combined weight of 825 pounds.

Sotheby’s said NWA 16788 weighs 24.67 kilograms, or about 54 pounds, which equates to 6.5% of all Martian material currently known on Earth.

The 14.75-by-11-by-6-inch meteorite is covered in what Sotheby’s described as a “reddish-brown fusion crust” which gives the item an “unmistakable Martian hue.”

NWA 16788 has surface depressions that experts say formed from frictional heating as the Martian rock fell through Earth’s atmosphere.

It also has minimal terrestrial weathering, which the auction listing says indicates its physical and chemical makeup have not been significantly altered since arriving in the Sahara.

“In other words, NWA 16788 is likely a relative newcomer here on Earth, having fallen from outer space rather recently,” Sotheby’s said.

The meteorite is being auctioned off as part of Sotheby’s Natural History sale, which features meteorites like NWA 16788, as well as other natural wonders, minerals and fossils.

One fossil being auctioned is an exhibition-ready mounted skeleton of a juvenile Ceratosaurus nasicornis dinosaur, which could go for $4-$6 million.

The live auction for NWA 16788 begins at 10 a.m. on July 16. Bidding opens up at $1.6 million, and Sotheby’s says it is estimated to be purchased for $2-$4 million.

Millions of people travel every year and most of them have to navigate through airports to reach their destination.

The experience that a person has as they catch flights can vary from airport to airport.

A new report from AirHelp sheds light on how airports in the U.S. performed, giving 250 airports from around the world a ranking in its 2025 AirHelp Score .

The organization said it looked at on-time performance during a one-year period from June 1 of last year to May 31 of this year. It also factored in how travelers reported they felt about their experience at the airports and their opinions on the food and shopping that they offer.

HOW DOES A WEAKER DOLLAR IMPACT US VACATIONERS?

“Our goal with the AirHelp Score is to use the data to provide travelers with an in-depth look at how airports are performing and help guide their flight booking decisions,” AirHelp CEO Tomasz Pawliszyn said in a statement. “It is the passengers’ experience that is the most important here.”

AirHelp found these airports were the worst in the U.S.:

Newark Liberty Airport

Of the 34 U.S. airports included in the AirHelp Score report, Newark Liberty International Airport received the lowest score, at 7.25. The airport services tens of millions of passengers each year, with 48.9 million flying through it in 2024, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Fort Lauderdale Hollywood Airport

The Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport’s AirHelp Score was 7.38 this year. The airport, which the organization found to be the second-worst in the U.S., is located in South Florida.

Philadelphia Airport

A score of 7.41 earned Philadelphia International Airport the ranking of No. 32 among U.S. airports and No. 188 globally, according to AirHelp.

These were the U.S. airports that AirHelp said ranked the highest:

Salt Lake City Airport

AirHelp gave Utah’s Salt Lake City International Airport a 8.29 overall score, making it the top U.S. airport for a second year in a row. The airport reacted to the ranking on X, saying, “People say sequels can’t top the original… But SLC is back and better than ever!”

Los Angeles Airport

Los Angeles International Airport received an 8.09, according to AirHelp. Its scores in two of the subcategories were both above 8, with it getting an 8.1 in on-time performance and 8.4 in food and shops.

Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was not far behind LAX, with AirHelp reporting an 8.07 overall for the airport. It uses the airport code “MSP.”
