Per The Jerusalem Post, the former Wonder Woman star claimed she’d “really enjoyed filming this movie” and “even enjoyed working with Rachel Zegler” (herself a vocal supporter of Palestine).
She then said: “What’s happening in all kinds of industries, and also in Hollywood, is that there’s a lot of pressure on celebrities to speak out against Israel.
“[I] can always explain and try to give people in the world context about what’s happening and what the reality is here, but in the end, people decide for themselves. I was disappointed that the movie was greatly affected by that and didn’t do well at the box office.”

Over the weekend, Gal’s comments became more widespread, leading her to clarify what she meant in an Instagram story post on Sunday.
“Sometimes we respond to questions from an emotional place,” she told her followers. “When the film came out, I felt that those who are against Israel criticised me in a very personal, almost visceral way. They saw me first and foremost as an Israeli, not as an actress.

It was previously reported that Snow White had made a loss of around $115 million, or £85 million, for Disney, with the film currently holding a critical approval score of just 39% on Rotten Tomatoes (its audience score is almost double that, however, at 70%).
After the film was first released, and its underperformance became apparent, an article was published in Variety claiming that film producer Marc Platt had flown across America to meet with Rachel in New York to discuss her social media activity (the piece specifically mentioned an instance in which the Evita star had posted the film’s trailer on X followed immediately by a post calling for a “free Palestine”).

This story later appeared to be corroborated by Marc’s son, Jonah, in a now-deleted social media post blaming the former West Side Story star for the film’s lack of success.
Speaking to i-D in June, Rachel claimed she’d found the backlash surrounding Snow White “alarming”, noting: “My fucking psychiatrist has seen me through all of it.”
“I think a victim mindset is a choice, and I don’t choose it,” she added. “I also don’t choose nastiness in the face of it. I don’t choose negativity in the face of it. I choose positivity and light and happiness.”
