A new update to the Gemini app on Android redesigns the homescreen widget. It’s meant to align with the main button that opens the app with the keyboard for immediate prompt entry. The updated widget shape certainly feels more whimsical and stands out more on your homescreen.

Meanwhile, the two and three-line widgets feature the pronounced curves at the top. The “Ask Gemini” pill regains its prominent Dynamic Color accent in this configuration after it was removed.

Version 1.0.795460806 of the Gemini app with this widget redesign is rolling out now via the Play Store. This application is primarily responsible for the icon that appears on your homescreen, system share targets, and homescreen widgets. All other functionality is powered by the Google app with new features delivered via server-side update.
