HOPKINS CO., Ky. (WFIE) – The Giardia outbreak in Hopkins County is spreading, health officials warn.

Monday, Kentucky Public Health released a statement saying the parasitic infection has 66 lab-confirmed cases and has been reported in Muhlenberg and Webster County.

As we previously told you, a lawsuit has been filed against the restaurant linked to the Giardia outbreak locally.

Officials say there is no concern with drinking water in Hopkins County.

If you have a diarrhea illness, you’re asked to seek care from your medical provider for testing and treatment.
