After rolling out last month, Google made official the new “AI Mode” shortcut in Chrome for Android and iOS. Opening google.com/aimode, it appears below the search bar, which gets a little bit taller, on the New Tab Page.
This pill-shaped button is joined by another for “Incognito,” with both accompanied by icons. This follows the AI Mode shortcut introduced on desktop earlier this year, with Google recently adding another one to the Omnibox.
This is rolled out on Android and iOS in the US today. It will soon be available in “160 new countries and other languages, including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese.”

Meanwhile, Google yesterday expanded AI Mode’s agentic booking capabilities. In August, the company announced support for restaurant reservations. Your prompt can specify the party size, date, time, location and preferred cuisine, with AI Mode using Project Mariner’s live web browsing capabilities to find matches.
As previously promised, you can now use AI Mode to book event tickets, as well as beauty and wellness appointments.
Originally, this was just for Google AI Ultra subscribers. As of today, it’s available for all users who have opted into the “Agentic capabilities in AI Mode” Labs experiment, with AI Pro and Ultra subscribers getting higher limits.
