Google Pixel Watch 4 is the first with satellite communication support
The watch is powered by Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chipset. One of the perks of this chip is its support for Narrowband Non-Terrestrial Network, aka satellite connectivity. Its bigger battery provides an advertised 30 hours of use on the 41mm version and 40 hours on the 45mm iteration.
The watch is powered by Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chipset, and one of the perks of this chip is its support for Narrowband Non-Terrestrial Network, aka satellite connectivity.
So the Pixel Watch 4 should let you send and receive messages without a mobile carrier connection, provided you have some sort of plan that includes that.

We are of course expecting to see other Wear OS devices using Qualcomm’s new chipset and its satellite communication support in the future, but for now, this is the only one.
