Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, has said that the Centre is open to discussing several topics, including Operation Sindoor, Pahalgam attack and US President Donald Trump’s remarks about his participation in the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, as suggested by the Opposition during an all-party meeting that was convened on Sunday.

“There are several issues on which the parties have opined that they should be discussed in the Parliament. We are ready for discussions with an open heart. We work as per rules and tradition and hold these in great value,” Rijiju was heard saying.

While replying to a question on Trump’s ceasefire claims, Rijiju said that the Centre will give an appropriate response in the Parliament. Meanwhile, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said that Operation Sindoor, issue of Bihar’s electoral roll revision, and the issue of foreign policy will be raised by the opposition.

The Monsoon session of Parliament is scheduled to be held from July 21 to August 21, and the government is expected to bring 17 bills for introduction in both Houses.

Operation Sindoor was launched by India on Pakistan’s terror infrastructure on the intervening night of May 6 and 7. This was in response to the deadly Pahalgam attack on April 22, where terrorists killed 26 people, allegedly after confirming their religious identities.

What followed was retaliation strikes from India and Pakistan, with several areas put on high alert amid war dangers looming large. However, on May 10, US President Donald Trump announced that India and Pakistan entered a ceasefire – which both nations confirmed later. Trump had taken the credit for brokering the ceasefire between the two countries, which India has since then denied.
