A Greenville, South Carolina, business owner is facing nearly a dozen charges after an identity fraud investigation led to the discovery of drugs and counterfeit goods.On Thursday, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 51-year-old Maurice Donnell Cummings and 47-year-old Lauren Celeste Johnson Cummings in connection with an identity theft investigation that started in February.Warrants were obtained for the husband and wife after investigators discovered that Maurice allegedly obtained multiple victims’ ID and financial information to fraudulently purchase items.Arrest warrants allege that Maurice did this by using the victims’ personal information to change the address and have a new South Carolina ID shipped to his address.It is further alleged that Maurice would apply for a loan to obtain multiple electric dirt bikes using the identity of the victim.According to arrest warrants, Maurice sold at least one of the dirt bikes on Facebook Marketplace through a fake Facebook account.On June 9, authorities executed search warrants on the couple’s home in Simpsonville and business in Greenville.According to arrest warrants, Maurice owns Prints2Day, which is a digital printing business, on Garlington Road in Greenville.While searching the home, authorities found a large amount of counterfeit merchandise, which was valued over $100,000, and two of the electric dirt bikes.Arrest warrants say 148 pounds of marijuana and a pound of psilocybin mushrooms were found inside Prints2Day.
