As Halo Studios focuses more on the “next era” of the first-person shooter series, it officially announced that the upcoming Halo World Championship will be the last for Halo Infinite. The event runs from October 24th to 26th, though Infinite will also feature in two upcoming Majors.

Halo Studios will continue to support its competitive scene, but the title is “moving on” from official competition. Interestingly, there won’t be a Halo Championship Series competition for a new title next year, with the developer promising another update “on that front” in late 2026.

Rumors have circulated about a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, and even Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer hinted at the series’ return during last month’s Xbox Games Showcase. However, it allegedly won’t feature multiplayer, focusing instead on the campaign.

Even if that isn’t the case, the remake could arrive late next year, making it difficult for HCS organizers to work around. Regardless, there will be announcement of sorts at this year’s Halo World Championship, so stay tuned for more updates.
