Has the NFL ever played a game in Ireland? International series history
Since the NFL launched its “International Series” in 2007, 49 games have been played abroad. To date, none of them has taken place in Ireland. That changes with the 50th International Series game in Week 4, when the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings kick off the Sunday slate at Croke Park in Dublin. Here’s a full breakdown of the 49 international games that have taken place already, as well as a look at the seven additional announced games still to come. The NFL is adding a new stamp to its passport in 2025 to make it easier for fans to track down their favorite teams. The stamp will feature the names of the teams that have played in the past and the year they will play in the future. The new stamp will also feature the year that the NFL will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a game in New York City. It will be the first time the NFL has played a game outside of the U.S. in more than a decade. The first game will take place in New Jersey on November 14.

The NFL has been (geographically) close to playing games in Ireland for years. Most of the NFL games that have been played internationally – to be specific, 39 of them so far – have taken place in London.
Ireland is also no stranger to hosting American football games. There have been 11 college football games on the Emerald Isle since 1988, including one each year since 2022.
