Samantha Grivno, a rising senior in the College of Health Sciences, was honored with the Rising Leader Award in audiology by the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association as part of the National NSSLHA Member Honors.

The honor is bestowed on one audiology undergraduate student who contributes heavily to their NSSLHA chapter and shows promise of future leadership. Grivno, one of just six spotlighted at the Member Honors, is the first Marquette student to receive the award.

The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association is the only national student organization for pre-professionals studying communication sciences and disorders recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Established in 1972, NSSLHA supports nearly 11,000 members and more than 350 chapters at colleges and universities nationwide.

Grivno was spotlighted earlier this year in Marquette Today.
