Here are 9 deals we’d like to see before the NFL’s trade deadline, including WRs on the move
The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday afternoon. Here are nine players we’d like to see move before the deadline. The Eagles made a move to help their pass rush, but cornerback depth is still an issue. The Patriots tried to sign Calvin Ridley last year, but the Titans landed him. The Bengals should be in full sell mode after another embarrassing loss fueled by defensive failure. The Colts are thin at cornerback and while that wasn’t the reason they lost at the Steelers on Sunday, it’s still the biggest weakness on a team that had the best record in the NFL going into Week 9. The Cowboys are more than a Trey Hendrickson away from fielding a passable defense. The Steelers don’t have enough pop on the outside other than DK Metcalf. The Chiefs aren’t getting a lot out of their running backs this season and could be unstoppable with a true difference maker at running back. The Jets could use another standout quarterback.
On Monday morning the Eagles traded for edge rusher Jaelan Phillips from the Dolphins, their third trade since the season started. There could be more for Philadelphia and other teams before Tuesday afternoon, when the trade deadline hits.

With teams in sell or buy mode, here are the nine deals we’d like to see happen before the deadline:
WR Jakobi Meyers to Jaguars
The Jaguars might be the most under-the-radar 5-3 team in the NFL. They also suffered a bad injury during last week when Travis Hunter hurt his knee. Hunter landed on injured reserve. That and the ongoing struggles of Brian Thomas Jr. leave Jacksonville thin at receiver. Meyers seems like a prime candidate, and maybe the Jaguars are a sneaky landing spot.
TE David Njoku to Packers
The Tucker Kraft injury was a big one for the Packers. He had become their No. 1 option in the passing game. Luke Musgrave takes a bigger role, but the Packers might need more. Njoku is the best tight end on the trade market and the Browns don’t badly need him with rookie Harold Fannin Jr. emerging as a good option at the position. The Packers have a good team but losing to the Panthers on Sunday after Kraft’s knee injury might be a wake-up call.

DE Trey Hendrickson to Cowboys
This is probably more fantasy than reality. The Cowboys are more than a Trey Hendrickson away from fielding a passable defense. But the Bengals should be in full sell mode after another embarrassing loss fueled by defensive failure on Sunday. Who knows, maybe the Cowboys will be looking to make a big splash. It wouldn’t be the first time.

CB Rasul Douglas to Colts
The Colts are thin at cornerback and while that wasn’t the reason they lost at the Steelers on Sunday, it’s still the biggest weakness on a team that had the best record in the NFL going into Week 9. Injuries have hit that position hard, and it wasn’t great to start with. Douglas continues to be a reasonable option, and the Dolphins should consider trading anyone who has value.

CB Alontae Taylor to Eagles
The Eagles made a move to help their pass rush, but cornerback depth is still an issue. They acquired cornerback Jaire Alexander in a low-cost move, but there’s a reason the Ravens were willing to move him. Cornerback Michael Carter was added too but the Eagles should be aiming higher. Taylor would fit in well, and he has been rumored to be possibly on the move with the Saints season continuing to get worse.
WR Rashid Shaheed to Steelers
Shaheed is another Saints player who could be on the move, and he would help anyone in the playoff race. The Steelers don’t have enough pop on the outside other than DK Metcalf. That’s why their passing offense revolves around tight ends. The Steelers should feel good after beating the Colts on Sunday, and maybe a move for receiver help could be another boost.

RB Breece Hall to Chiefs
Even if Isiah Pacheco will return soon from a knee injury, the Chiefs aren’t getting a lot out of their running backs this season. The offense could be unstoppable with a true difference maker at running back. Hall could be a great fit. He’s in the final year of his rookie deal and the one-win Jets don’t have a lot of incentive to hold onto him. This is a move that could benefit both sides.
WR Calvin Ridley to Patriots
The Patriots tried to sign Ridley last year, but the Titans landed him. With the Titans going nowhere and featuring some young receivers, Ridley doesn’t make much sense anymore. He has missed some time due to a hamstring injury, but if the Patriots are confident that’s not a long-term issue, maybe Ridley can add some juice to the Patriots’ receiver room. Drake Maye is extracting the most out of all of the receivers, but he could use another standout. Ridley had 1,000 yards last season despite terrible quarterback play. He can help a Patriots team that is vying to knock off Buffalo in the AFC East.
