India rains LIVE: Heavy rain lashes Delhi, waterlogging reported in several places
Delhi witnessed a cloudy sky on Tuesday (August 12, 2025) morning, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting more thunderstorms and rain in the city during the day. Earlier today, several parts of Delhi received intense rainfall and waterlogging was also reported in some areas. The Dehradun administration has declared a holiday for schools and anganwadi centres after heavy rains.

Meanwhile, in Uttarakhand, the Dehradun administration has declared a holiday for schools and anganwadi centres after heavy rains.
Earlier on Monday (August 11, 2025) Kedarnath Yatra was suspended for three days after the regional meteorological department’s warning for heavy rains. The Yatra will continue to remain suspended till Wednesday (August 14, 2025).
Incessant rainfall has also affected the rescue operations in Uttarkashi, where landslips and floods ravaged the Dharali village. Bad weather also hit the ongoing repair work of the damaged stretches of the Gangotri NH at Songad and Dabrani even though a vital Bailey bridge over Limchagad near Gangnani became operational, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said. A 10-member team of geological experts, including some from the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, which is on its way to Dharali is also waiting for the Gangotri NH to open, he said.
