Earlier in the day, a post from West Bengal’s Bidhan Nagar police station identified the assailant as Hafijul Rahman and the victim as Hossain Ahmed Majumder and said that legal action in the matter had been initiated after the airline handed over the attacker to the police after Friday’s (August 1, 2025) flight.
The victim, who was a first-time air traveller, suffered a panic attack as the aircraft was taxiing from Mumbai on Friday (August 1, 2025), and demanded that he be allowed to deboard. This resulted in commotion onboard as passengers were furious that it would result in a delay.
