Lokendra Tomar, the owner of a flat in Indore tied to the high-profile murder case involving Sonam Raghuvanshi, has been apprehended by Madhya Pradesh police at the request of Meghalaya authorities. Tomar, who allegedly attempted to destroy crucial evidence linked to the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, was tracked down and caught in Gwalior after traveling from Uttarakhand.

Tomar, an infrastructure company owner, came under suspicion after police questioned Indore-based property dealer Silome James, who had facilitated the rental of the flat to Sonam and her accomplices. Investigators believe that Tomar attempted to cover up evidence indicating that Sonam and the hired hitmen stayed at his property after the murder.

According to police sources, Tomar took possession of a black bag that Sonam left behind in the flat before her surrender. The bag reportedly contained a country-made pistol, Sonam’s mobile phone, jewelry belonging to her deceased husband Raja, and Rs 5 lakh in cash. Investigators suspect Tomar tried to dispose of the bag and its contents to hinder the investigation.

Furthermore, Tomar allegedly attempted to obtain and erase CCTV footage from a nearby car showroom in a bid to eliminate any visual proof of the accused’s presence at the location.

Sonam Raghuvanshi, who is accused of orchestrating the murder of her husband, had stayed at the flat in Indore’s Hirabagh locality between May 26 and June 8. She later surrendered to police, admitting she left the incriminating bag behind. However, during a police raid on the flat, none of the items were found—deepening suspicions of tampering.

The case, currently being handled by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Meghalaya, continues to unfold, with more arrests and leads expected in the coming days.
