International Yoga Day event hopes to inspire peace, health, harmony
The Ghandi Institute for Peace is holding a yoga event on June 22. The event is free with complimentary parking at the Waikiki Bandstand. There will also be guest speakers, including Honolulu City Councilman.
The Ghandi Institute for Peace is collaborating with others to bring the community together to celebrate yoga on Sunday, June 22, from 9-11 a.m. at the Waikiki Bandstand in Kapiolani Park.
Organizers said the event’s theme, “Yoga for Health & Peace,” honors the global movement toward wellness and unity.
It will include yoga asanas, breath exercises, mantra chanting, meditation, cultural dances, and sound healing.
There will also be guest speakers, including Honolulu City Councilman and guest of honor, Mike Gabbard, and the Deputy Consul of the Republic of India, Rakesh Adlakha.
