Recently, a rumor suggested that Apple might drop the Camera Control with the iPhone 18 series. However, the latest leak indicates that won’t be the case.

Tipster Instant Digital, known for a better track record with iPhone leaks, has dismissed the recent rumor on Weibo, stating that Apple will retain the Camera Control feature in upcoming iPhones. The tipster claims that the iPhone 18 series will include the feature, but it will be redesigned.

According to the tipster, Apple plans to revamp the Camera Control design by dropping the currently available capacitive functionality while retaining only the pressure-sensing feature. The move is reportedly aimed at reducing costs. The Camera Control is also difficult to repair, the tipster noted.

The redesign is expected to streamline the feature while maintaining functionality similar to the current Camera Control. So, it appears that the Camera Control isn’t going anywhere after all.
